Pinterest video transcript generator for native video Pins

Use the Pinterest video transcript generator to convert a public native video Pin to text with timestamps. Recover spoken narration for instructions or review a tutorial, then add visual details separately. This is video to text from audio, not OCR for images or boards.

  • Public native video pins only
  • First native video block
  • Audio transcript, not image text

Turn narration into a starting point for instructions

Select the pin itself
Use the full pinterest.com/pin/ URL for one native video rather than a board or a pin.it short link.
Recover the voiceover
Speech-to-text follows the audio. A quantity or material name shown only on screen needs your visual review.
Check the sequence
Compare each narrated instruction with the demonstration before turning it into a written checklist.
Keep a useful draft
Export text for writing or timed subtitle cues for an editor. The service does not create a finished recipe or illustrated tutorial.

A video pin is different from a board or image

Submit a public native video pin on pinterest.com or www.pinterest.com. Supported pin paths contain an id, either on its own or after a descriptive slug. A board, profile, image pin or externally embedded video is not a supported native-video input. pin.it short links and regional Pinterest domains are not supported; use the full supported pin address.

The first native video block is processed. If the pin contains additional video blocks, the result is not a transcript of all of them joined together. Check the selected media before describing your export as a complete account of a multi-part tutorial.

The recording must be available without authentication. transcript1 cannot use Pinterest account cookies or private credentials to fetch restricted media. Recognition of a pin URL does not promise that its video remains publicly retrievable.

Build a written tutorial from the spoken explanation

Learn how to convert a Pinterest video Pin to text and audit a narrated demonstration before relying on it as a checklist.

  1. Listen before submitting

Check that the video contains narration. A silent demonstration with printed labels will not yield those labels in an audio transcript.

  2. Paste the pin URL

Use the dashboard link form. Pinterest uses speech-to-text with auto or stt, not captions-only. YouTube and X retain captions, as do qualified TikTok, Bluesky and Dailymotion native tracks; see the source capability matrix.

  3. Review details against the video

Check measurements, ingredient names and action verbs. Add silent steps as your own observations rather than attributing them to the narration.

  4. Save a reviewed draft

Download TXT or JSON and retain the pin URL. Separate a quotation from your adapted instructions, especially when studying someone else’s work.

Speech is only one layer of a visual demonstration

A craft or cooking pin may say “add this” while the material and amount appear only in a frame. The transcript preserves the spoken phrase, not the missing ingredient or quantity. Watch that moment and record the detail separately. Transcription does not read frames or extract the pin description.

Music, sped-up narration and brief cuts can make a sentence hard to recognize. Replay uncertain words rather than assuming the machine chose the intended term. Even a correct transcript may omit a safety step that the creator never said aloud; it is not a substitute for checking instructions before following or publishing them.

For your own revised video, SRT or VTT exports give you timed cues to import into an editor. Review the final cut and caption placement yourself. The files do not recreate animated text from the original pin or publish captions to Pinterest.

Repeat the workflow through the API

Submit the public pin URL through the REST API, save the job id and retrieve the completed transcript. Your application can retain that id alongside the pin and its reviewed notes. It should not resubmit the same pin just to read another export format.

A successful job costs one credit per media minute, rounded up. New accounts receive 60 free minutes once after email verification. Failed and canceled jobs are not charged. An unavailable pin is an access failure, not permission to supply account credentials or bypass a restriction.
